    I honestly think that is a very lenient sentence. He's a lucky lad in my opinion.

    If I smacked someone in the stands at a game id be looking at a custodial sentence and a 3 year ban with a hefty fine - why should that player not be given the same punishment?

    Maybe because he never actually hit him, he never even got within a yard of the bloke. Last time i knew it wasn't a custodial sentence to shout a few expletives at some one while being held back from going any further.

    I think the punishment is about right, for what he actually did

    about 22 seconds in he reaches over the barrier and hits him
    It's a piss poor effort but there is contact even if its with his arm
