The smell of puke in the bottom corner was unreal - even when there was nowt there. Crammed full in my time (79 - 84ish) every weekend and always booming with loud music. When i got in there early doors on the odd occasion it was quite refreshing - the coldness from the stone walls etc............. I have amemory jolt; i seem to recall something with photos on one of the walls? Was this in the No.7?

It was also the pub when about 40/50 Sheff Weds lads turned up for fun and games after their game had been called off. We were playing Wolves (82/83) and there were quite a few of the Royston Legion lot in that day. Happy days! :)

I bought my first ever pint of beer in the No 7, I was 16 and too scared to go in the local pubs in Bolton on Dearne, so me and my mate got the number 23 bus into Barnsley.

spent some " shady nights " in there early doors in the dark room where you could nt see if the birds were stunning or as fowl as sin - beer had a strange taste i seem to remember.
always loved the number 7 - big shame the lads who last had it got shafted out of the market

Tommy Fisher landlord used to fill pints of Beer with a hosepipe 10 pints at a time. Once played the piano on the same bill as the group 'Moonshiners' think
Tony Christie was in this band at the time.

Georges was a Dance Hall and anybody remember the pub around the corner from this. I played the piano there for a while full of Dancers from the Baths as well.

We used to peep in the bar from outside as teenagers, looking to see what 'Ladies of the Night' looked like. Seems it was a popular place for them. :D :D :D

Vine Tavern, bloody hell....Once got knocked spark out when i was 16/17 ish by some big bugger with a cowboy nickname, Cheyenne or something like that, god he could pack a punch....

Same thing happened again in the Wine Shades with another big bugger, jeez i knew hot to pick them in my youth, the second guy had a bit of a reputation round town in them days and was a very well known bloke, and i was a silly lad who thought he could steamroller anyone, i soon learnt my lesson....

Some good pubs round town in them days....
