It is all rather embarassing although I suspect it was a very close run thing and big Terry probably got himself a pay rise today
completely agree. whoever we get in now will be, in every sense of the word, 3rd rate. but we're completely rudderless. has any other Championship club ever been turned down twice?
I feel the same about Butcher. Wasn't particularly excited about his potential appointment, but similarly I wasn't necessarily against it. As it is, I wish he had accepted it just to put an end to the farce. At this rate we are going to end up with the best potential manager being the one we've just sacked. I just wish they had put some thought to it before sacking Hill and had some idea as to who they wanted (and preferably having tapped up said candidate). So far then we have sacked the manager who brought most of the first team in and all of whom seemed to like him, we've appointed his assistant to oversee affairs whilst we begin the process of searching for a replacement, we invite applications but then decide not to pursue any of the applicants (or at the very least decide not to go public with any of the applicants), we pursue two managers very publicly who turn us down just as publicly, we let all the loan players go back to their clubs (not necessarily a bad thing), we let our leading scorer leave in January for the third season running (with him having exercised a release clause that the club had advised a group if supporters that no players left at the club had), we accept a bid for Wiseman and question marks still hang over our first choice goalkeeper (and current captain), not to mention a few of our players being linked to moves in the press. Oh, and we seem to be preparing to sign an injury prone striker who's best days are behind him if rumours are to be believed. Can we have some positive news soon please? I'm starting to get a little worried about what we're going to be watching for the next few years.
