Why are they celebrating on the pitch with their kids? I must've missed it when they won the competition.
I was in the Bobby Moore suite for the play-off final and the players families etc were in there. At some point, there was a warning telling them under no circumstances would players children be allowed on the pitch and asking their families not to pass kids to their fathers to avoid embarrassment when the stewards removed them. I thought it was pretty miserable myself.
it sounds petty. but on a more pragmatic note, did you see how many flares have been flying around during the euros? can you imagine the $hitstorm, if one of them hit a players kid? i do kind of understand why they're nervous..
How about no organised hooligan gangs allowed in the stadium. No flares or rockets allowed in the stadium. No pitch invaders during the match. Security at this tournamennt has been embarrassing.
They don't need to waste their time dealing with piffling issues such as these. It's far more important they get to grips with the really serious issues like two year old little girls coming on the pitch to spend a bit of time with her Dad who is celebrating achieving something many thought beyond his team.
Ok so the authorities are saying no kids on the pitch... Sounds miserable and insensitive. Next it will be granny on the pitch. After that it will be cousin on the pitch. Then it will be mates from Bangor. Then it will be...... I can see the point myself. Sounds heartless but it's not
I see the point too. Make an exception if they go on and win the final. But win/lose a semi and you want to parade your family around your workplace to get them on TV, nah.
