I wonder why that is, I think groundsman should be under pressure for his job state of the pitch this season.
Yes Our Pitch Is In A Bad Condition That's a shame as over the years it's been really good at this point in the season. I guess it's Davey that has them watering the pitch when it's already wet enough with rain.
RE: Yes Our Pitch Is In A Bad Condition Yes he requests it for our slick passing game. Then gets them to hoof it back to front for 90 mins.
Oh I, some thing else to blame Davey for. The Oakwell pitch has been poor for a good few years. The surface looks too sandy for good root development. I don't think reseeding every year helps either. I'm sure a grass expert will come along soon and put us in the picture.
If its too sandy its down to Groundsman it could be down to the drainage or maybe they have cut back his resouces but it should be a lot better ( sorry worked bowling greens, cricket and golf courses all my life )
I see more grass on Sunday League Pitches which are played on 3 times a week with kids on them every Day light hour.
I did hear a few years ago that there was a grass virus affecting the pitch.

I went on the stadium tour on Saturday. The guide said that the pitch had been totally relaid last summer. With all the rain we have had since then I am sure that the turf has not had time to settle. However, comparing the way our lads go about running repairs at half time, they do not seem to give as much TLC as some of the other grounds I have visited.
Look at Liverpool's pitch on telly and others around the leagues there in a lot better condition with the same weather.
first summer signing should be the ex-head groundsman from millmoor....... he got the bullet a couple of weeks ago due wagecutting by the administrator. I went down there a few weeks ago and their pitch was in fantastic nick. Bearing in mind they are skint and spent no money on it, he was doing a fantastic job.
