As some of you know because I have posted on here before, I am a Leicester City supporter who has been following Tommy's time with you since he joined Barnsley. To be honest when leicester aren't playing i always listen in on internet to your matches. You have had a good start to your season in Championship and more than just results you play some exciting football, something every fan enjoys.
I of course can relate to some of the postings on here that are a bit frustrated that Tommy is not doing as well as you would have hoped. We at Leicester experience that too. In the past we as a club made the big mistake I feel in venting our anger on the players we felt were under performing leading to their "fear" and inability to score the goals we expected of them.
When any manager buys a player and gives them a contract for a few seasons you have to assume he is well aware of what the player is capable of. Andy Ritchie must have seen what I and lots of other Leicester players saw in Tommy.
He has not had much time on the pitch until Tuesday's game against Blackpool so can say needs more time to show himself at his best. I know his penalty was saved at such a bad time for him but to be fair he isn't the first to have that happen to. It is only a few weeks ago that three of the "supposedly" top players in this country, missed penalties. The only difference for them is that they are already established in their careers.
Before anyone gets on to me sayiing that Tommy isn't good enough and can't be compared to the players who represent our country, I can reassure you that nobody will be more upset than Tommy is at the moment.
He is a Leicester lad worked up through the ranks but was badly let down by our last manager, along with other players from our academy.
He is a good honest hard working player and a really nice lad who only wants to do well.
I was impressed with your manager for keeping him on the whole match on Tuesday and helping him try to get that confidence going to enable him to give your fans his best.
It is lovely to read some of the nice remarks made by some of you and the understanding that when a player is struggling to reach his form then everything seems to go against them.
Of course there are always the ones that are on a players back all the time. You get that in all clubs.
Maybe some of you are right and he should perhaps go out on loan and build his confidence up so he can come back playing at his best. Personally I hope you will give him more time and I feel sure it will all come good before too long.
Thought he played some good stuff on Tuesday.
Good luck for the rest of the season

Thankyou

Says it all really. If anyone will bring him on it's Ritchie & Holden. I can assure you that writing players off all too quickly is a well established Barnsley trait.

All the best.

Nice comments. Are you related to him at all, or a friend? You say he played some good stuff on Tuesday, so you must have gone to see him?

I hope he does well this season, he was clearly over the moon at Cardiff when we won on penalties.

You also say 'Andy Ritchie must have seen what I and lots of other Leicester players saw in Tommy'.

Are you a Leicester player, by any chance? Or perhaps an ex-Leicester player who has now gone to another club? say, a Championship club in the north of England? :)

For what it's worth, the only time I've seen TW (at Brentford last year) he was ace, though I gather that wasn't a particularly representative performance!

No I am not related to him and wouldn't say I am a friend either. I have always taken an interest in the youngsters who come through the academy especially the ones from Leicester. I think it is hard for some of them to make it nowadays and am always pleased to see the ones that do well.
I wasn't at the match but as i said i did listen on the internet, not the same i know but he seemed to be doing a few things right.

So sorry, it should have read "fans". Definately not a player myself. Just a football lover like most of people on this board.

You make some interesting points.

But I'd just like to state the following:

Tommy Wright
Had a *****
In the middle of the night
The wind blew
The **** flew
And covered Tommy Wright in *****

I think you'll find I'm right.
