I don’t blame the manager for this although his tactics and formation doesn’t help, because we’ve not got competent players available to play 433. We got away with vertical football under Val, when he had the luxury of having 5 subs and not many injuries. The recruitment has been poor and we know the manager doesn’t sign the players. The squad is so imbalanced and we lost the playoffs last season because of the same reason, no defensive or attacking midfield, or full backs that can defend or cross a ball from deep when it matters! Scoring goals is a major problem but we aren’t creating anything, half chances at best. We’ve not got one player who can beat his man and cross the ball, we’ve not got one creative midfield player in the entire squad other than Benson. There’s no wonder we are struggling to create chances.

The one player who I thought would make a difference to the squad was shipped out on loan to Oxford “ Herbie Kane” with no replacement for him. Who ever makes the decisions on player recruitment needs to take the blame, but the problem is regardless who’s in charge, we can’t bring players in until January.

It wasn’t a created chance though was it? their player slipped, Odour went through and hit the post, he should have done better. In football you create your own luck and as a team we are create nothing.

Everything considered i actually thought Will Hondermarck played well and could see him as a midfield regular in weeks to come seems to at least have the physical attributes.

Well he certainly played with a bit of spirit and towards the best of his ability. If they'd all done that things may have turned out better.

We always seem to start brightly then quickly fade.

Enthusiastic youth, until the heads drop and there’s no experience around to keep them going. Someone like Matty James would make the world of difference in that side.
