It seems lately we could use the Millwall chant, but Paul Warne has broken the mould. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...s-paul-warne-on-brilliant-barnsley-fc-3184085
Feels like everyone wants to give us some love at the moment. Growing American fan-base brought by Dike, plaudits in newspapers like the Sunday Times and the Washington Post. A bunch of friends I have a regular Friday night Zoom with have all announced that we're their 'second team' - a Scottish Man U fan from Ireland (work that one out), a Blackburn fan, and a Bolton fan. If (and I don't want to tempt fate) we go up, I really don't want that to turn into the patronising **** we got last time. Having said that, one of my favourite TV moments ever was Redfearn being interviewed. It was something like: Patronising interviewer: "How on earth will poor little Barnsley cope playing against all those grown up sides in the prem" Redfearn: "we're gonna try and get a few throw-ins and take it from there"
Just been reading one of those analytical predictions in the online Yorkshire Post. They predict the final positions. We’re 5th with 76 points just ahead of Bournemouth. Reading miss out. I like the relegation predictions as well. Birmingham Wednesday and Wycombe bottom three
He probably did mate. BUT>>>Birmingham and Washday being relegated in one season and where Rotherham stay up....whatever love he developed for Wycombe must surely be a price worth paying for that outcome.
A lot of our own fans slagged the Dave Bassett team. Other than Norman's team, the most exciting team to watch, with the likes of Higgy, The idea either that team, or our current one are / were hoofball merchants is rubbish. Direct football, with skill & passion.
Nothing against the Chairboys but there doesn’t seem to be much hope for them. In my years down there I only went to Adams Park once, when the Reds were playing.
