Southend boss Steve Tilson has said he will not be signing Swansea striker Leon Knight.

The Championship side had been linked with a move for the 24-year-old striker, but Tilson has ruled out such a deal, saying that it would jeopardise the good team spirit at Roots Hall.

The former Chelsea trainee is looking for a new club after falling out with Swansea manager Kenny Jackett, and is quickly gaining a reputation for falling out with his employers.

"Everyone keeps asking me why we don't move for Leon Knight," said Tilson, "but he's had six clubs in six years so there must be something in that.

"We've got a good team spirit here and I don't want to ruin that."

However, Tilson's side will still require strengthening as they look to start climbing away from the bottom of The Championship.
