Defenders not knowing who to mark. Midfielders who can barely put two passes together. Strikers just not in the game at all. We look as though we have never played together before.</p> Our best centre half at right back. Our best right back on the bench. No left footed left back. Our best striker on the left wing. Odejayi can't kick a ball. Macken looks a totally different player. Howard just not in the game. Colace plays a few decent passes, but then suddenly loses the plot and can't find his own team mate. 5 Corners that didn't get past the first man. </p> Only player I thought came out of tonight with any credit was Campbell-Ryce. But he might as well not bother, because everytime he crossed the ball, nobody was there to attack it. </p>
Your assessment of the game is about right, just let me add a couple of things. The players Mr Davey has brought in this season are not good enough on the few matches that we have seen them play. We were second best when it came to fitness and speed. We have no decent striker at the club. The first three home games have been poor , in fact it's has poor as i can remember a Barnsley side. What the solution is i just don't know.
the other thing i have said since the start of the season is... our midfielders are all dwarves (apart from KO so are our forwards) our team gets overun by players that are bigger, stronger and fitter than them. we will go no where in this league with such a 'small' team. i would dare to bet no other team in the league has as many tiny players as us...
