Pyro on the open top bus.
Now i know that quite a few people on here are appalled at this type of juvenile and potentially deadly behaviour.
So will the culprit be mightily castigated, as would Tyson from Grimey, or not, seeing as who it was?

The key difference here is that there is no chance of fines or punishments being handed to the club as it wasn’t in the stadium and so out of their jurisdiction.

So no, they won’t, and shouldn’t be, castigated in a similar way. Because it isn’t particularly similar.

Not really the point i was trying to make.
The point is rather about the smoke and its potential for harm

I took the point as the culprit, because you said culprit. ie the players did it so won’t get punished but if a fan (Tyson from grimey) in your words did it, he would.

Not particularly punished per-se, but mightily castigated on here by some (see numerous historical pyro posts).

Is the difference perhaps that the person holding it on the bus was higher than those on the ground and smoke rises, it was less crowded on the bus plus they didn’t throw it anywhere? Those things presumably makes the situation much safer than throwing a lit one into a crowd and holding it at head level of a couple of thousand people all crammed in together where they can’t move to safety. I’d be terrified if someone had one near me at the match, probably not arsed if a player had one up on the bus. I’m also not sure about the legality of holding one on the bus but I know it’s illegal to have one inside the ground.

What about all the poor people on the bus though? They were at the same level.

I think theres a big difference between holding one aloft on a bus and in a stadium in an enclosed space with little movement due to less airflow etc.

    I get your point, though.

Someone had one in the crowd as well near me as the bus was going by. It all drifted straight towards me but cleared quickly.

As they're all part of the same group they were probably ok with it, I'm sure they're comfortable enough with each other at this point to say if they didn't want whoever it was to do so.

Good good: no injuries or hospitalisation required then.

Thought it improved the atmosphere if I’m honest and the players didn’t seem to mind it.

Just interesting to see how some people's perspective shifts significantly.

Suggest a three game ban for McGeehan, followed by a further three for him for Bolton’s administration

I'm aged so i have no desire to see young punks take contraband items in to sports arenas: what's wrong with bog rolls?
Its the sheer sycophantic hypocracy i find amusing.
