As soon as I saw the team sheet I knew we were in for a long day. Rothwell and Wilkinson need sending back to their patent clubs. Clearly not up to the fight for League One from what I've seen so far. League One teams aren't going to give us the space Everton allowed us to have. Everton knew they could score more than us the longer the game went on. In the league, you need players who are going to fight for every blade of grass. I take a Scowen over a Hourihane in my team any day of the weeks. Conor is a luxury and if Huddersfield offer a 7 figure sum before Tuesday then let him go. We have a good spine to our team in Roberts, Scowen and Winnall. Leaving 2/3 out today was only going to end up one way. And yes, I think footballers should be able to play 2 to 3 games a week. Especially seeing as we don't have any 'old legs' in the team. Anyways, may as well keep the same team for the John Stones Paint Trophy. Give them a chance to redeem themselves.
Roberts had a nightmare today. It seemed every forward pass he made went to Rochdale player or went out of play. We missed Scowen today and Winnall in the first half. Wilkinson didn't look bothered, don't remember him breaking into a sprint all day.
Agree to an extent. Think Rothwell could be a decent player for us though. Hourihane is our most talented player, Crowley aside, and will thrive when Williams, Watkins and a new striker are making runs around him
