When 'tarn played Preston earlier this season, I thought Robert Atkinson handled David Nugent really well. I really don't rate some of these players who get in England team. McClaren is losing the plot. I know we need to give younger players a chance, but surely someone who has scored a mere 14 league goals isn't worthy of a place in the England team. 14 goals is hardly amazing, Redfearn used to get that every season from midfield!!! What do you think?
who is england quality? Rooney then?? erm well Bent, Johnson and erm well they not that good. we a bit thin on the strikers. and rooney doesnt get that many.
Chopra's done so much more this season, although he's still not England class Lita deserves a chance, but to be honest, none of these players are world class performers who I trust to pull on an English shirt. Shame Michael Owen's injury record is like that of Matt Carbon, as we might have a strike force to be reckoned with!
RE: Chopra's done so much more this season, although he's still not England class how old is chopra and as he ever played for the under 21's???

I think Nugent is worth a shot. He is more than just a goalscorer so cant be judged purely on amount of goals (as Rooney cant and isnt). Nugent is proven quality at u21 level and so should be given a chance, especially as the strikers who are already in the England squad are so short of quality (except Rooney). If it isnt a natural progression from u21 to senior squad then what is the point of the u21 squad?
