    I won't be disappointed if he doesn't. Strikes me as someone with more passion than intellect. I am thinking of the bloodied England shirt and I remember Lineker rolling his eyes when recounting 'Caged tigers'. Not sure I want an influx of Inverness players either.

    European football would be limited to the preliminary round(s) against somebody from Latvia / Lithuania / etc => it means nowt and a very short-term "success" factor.

    Butcher has taken ICT as far as they can get, as they would never topple Celtic/Rangers and maybe he knows that deep down inside?

    Would be a great appointment......gentleman, leader, motivator, organiser.

    How much european footy is he gonna get though, Motherwell finished second last season, failed to make the champions league proper and went out at the first hurdle in the Europa cup.

    I doubt ICT would do much better.

    Are a few games in Europe worth the chance of more money and managing back in England ??

    so what if he has a nice house in the highlands, sure he could keep it

    F.uck me we sound like the Wendies here. True ICT will never topple Celtic and Sevco, but until Sevco get in the top division of the SPL there's easy (early rounds) of Eurpoe there for the taking. ICT have never, nor will ever, have it so good. I don't think it's that cut and dried.

    It's a great chance for him to test his managerial skills in england and if he does OK a premiere team will pounce and he's back in the big time,if he fails or gets fed up, back to tbh SPL where open arms await no need t sell his house till he's sure he ants t tay in england.

    I'm 50:50 - mind you he hasn't got much pressure on him. If we go down its Hill/Rowing's fault. If we stay up he is the messiah. Win win for him really.
