<font size="2"> </p> "To what extent has reggae invaded the conciousness of the white youth in Britain?" </p> "Well the first thing that emerges is that, in accepting reggae, the skinhead has rejected something else......"</p> But can you guess what it was?</p> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYtjC-nDVUw</p></font>
Hmmmmm I'm white, I guess I'm middle class and I have 'Love' on my iPod, but I also have Symarip and Desmond Decker and Alton Ellis and Lord Tanamo etc etc. So what have I rejected? Maybe I've rejected the ******** and the bullshitters that try to pigeonhole and label.

Re: No wonder your Dad talks **** #1 nt What another load of B*ll*cks posted by the boards empty can. The fact is that the skinheads in the 60's aped black culture in the way they dressed and the music they listened to and you will find that a lot of Jamaican youths actually members of skinhead gangs. It wa sonly in the 70's when the skins became connected with the fascist subculture and that black people became alienated and afraid of it. It should also be remembered that reggae was an integral part in the early years of punk. Don Letts djed at the 100 Club in 76 and almost exclusively played Jamaican music because there were no punk singles to play. I would recommed the Dread Meets PunK Rocker Uptown compilation to anyone interested in this era of music.
And once again you completely miss the point. </p> You really must sort out this obsession mate. You're making yourself look a right tit.</p>
RE: And once again you completely miss the point. Come on then explain yourself then... Oh but I forgot that you don't do that because it's beneath you. There is just no point even discussing things with you Windy because it always ends with name calling, contradiction or the old you've missed the point. It really is dull. Anyway i have a fondness for tits.
I was merely pointing out.......... </p> ....that the narrator seemed to think that, at some point, skinhead was a middle-class culture. The rest is all in your hysterical head, you buffoon.</p>
RE: I was merely pointing out.......... I would assume from the vagueness of the quotes that he was actually saying that in accepting reggae that skinheads were in fact rejecting white working class culture and tapping into another culture. Surely by posting ambiguous posts you are inviting debate and comment. Oh and whilst you mentioned obsessions.. How is the list progressing?
Oh come on. </p> You misunderstood again. Stop waffling.</p> </p> You need to calm down and think before sticking your beak in.</p>
