Is anybody bothered ? The opening ceremony was on our tv this aft, it looked boring. No atmosphere, no excitement, no thrills. Sadly all I saw were athletes waving disinterestedly to no one in particular. I know it is a sign of the current times but personally I'm not going to lose sleep about it all. Very, very sad for what should be a major sporting event.
I don't think it helps us not having rivals for the yanks and jamaican's in the mens sprints. I remember Lewis v Christie. Roger Black and John Regis v Michael Johnson. No personalities now.
I just couldn't give a toss tbh. Lots of sports that only really matter once every 2 or 4 years, most of which are done by absolute dweebs. I got caught up in the 2012 hype but they've barely registered for me since then.
I’d normally be well up for it but it’s been a shambles from start to finish and now we’re having it in a country where nobody wants where nobody can go and watch it. Probably won’t bother with much if it.
No supporters. No atmosphere. Little mainstream coverage. No build up. Not even the best taking on the best. Stupid pandemic restrictions but on coaching teams and health advisors (or even family). Been a joke from the start and should never have been taking place in Tokyo without commitment to do it properly.
Well just switched on. I love big sports events and the Olympics is the pinnacle. I'll watch as much as I can.
The time difference doesn’t help. The Rio Olympics were great for me. I could watch all the sports I wanted up to about 1am. I’m looking forward to the Olympic road race in the morning, the route looks brilliant, lots of climbs & in the shadows of Mount Fuji but again the start times a bit of a buzz kill. It starts at 3am & should finish about 10am. Hoping Adam Yates can do something as the other Brits looked off it at the Tour.
This is how badly it’s been advertised. I don’t even know what channel it’s on! Thankfully the hundred was entertaining.
Just watching the rest of the opening ceremony. The drones were so clever . I think they've done a really good job considering how restricted they are with Covid.
Not that ar$ed. Who we got in it? I'll probably watch out for KJT, Dina, Laura Muir and Adam Peaty. Other than that, don't really know what we're in for
Got Laura and Jason Kenny for the cycling.and a 13 year old skateboarder. Hoping Dina can medal in the athletics
I'm working on it, so yes I'm watching!! Directing the overnight show through till about 5am. Rehearsing in an hour then off we go....
We've only run the massive trailer about 300 times across both channels over the last few weeks. You need to stop watching bongo vids....
