Well I didn't go to the match yesterday but well done to the super reds for a fantastic result (trust me to miss it!).

I went to watch the Noise & Confusion concert at Millennium Stadium, what a fantastic stadium and hopefully we will be going back in May (what am I on about were gunna win t'league!!!!)

Set off at 2am and arrived about 6am, expecting there to be thousands of fans waiting but no we were first in queue so had a 6 hour wait for the gates to open. The waiting was worth it though because we managed to get in the pen and out of 75,000 people I was the closest to Johnny Borrell, Dave Grohl & Liam Gallagher.

First few bands I hadn't heard of but they were pretty good and maybe ones to watch out for (Yeti & Nic Armstrong + The Thieves). Started to pick up when The Subways played their set, absolutly brilliant and even dedicated Rock & Roll Queen to Oasis.

Next up were The Coral who I was a little dissapointed with because it went rather flat after what was an energetic display from The Subways. Razorlight lifted the bar back up to the top level though with a fantastic show and a bizzare stage set which involved plants and a setee, highlights of their set were 'Stumble & Fall' and 'Kirby's House'. Johnny Borrell - what a performer and can't wait for the next album.

After a long wait Dave Grohl finally made his way onto the massive stage to a massive cheer and the set that they played, although it had to be slightly condensed becuase of stage times was still phenomenal. Played some great tunes from the new record, 'In Your Honour' & 'DOA' were fantastic but still found time for classics like 'Learn To Fly', 'Monkey Wrench' and 'Everlong'. Dave even treated the crowd to an unexpected solo acoustic version of 'Big Me' which I especially enjoyed.

That was always going to be a tough act to follow but if you could back any band in the world to have the confidence and swagger to do it then its Oasis. Strolled on stage and opened up with 'Turn Up The Sun' and 'Lyla' from the new record before belting out some of their greatest hit which included 'Morning Glory' & 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' which Liam dedicated to George Best!!! (maybe not the best thing to have done)

Throughout the set Liam was very pissed off with the sound tech and even at one point said he was going to smash him up, the sound was not the best during their show but it was still amazing and Noel even rolled out an un-expected rendition of The Masterplan which was one of the highlights of the day. Finished off with an encore which included 'Meaning of Soul' & 'Dont Look Back In Anger' before 'My Generation closed the show.

What a fantastic day, that you to everyone who played to make it one of the best days of my life. Maybe I missed the match but I wouldn't have swapped it for anything.

    (clap)

    Awesome

I'm seeing the Foos on Weds at the MEN.

I saw the Subways, Razorlight and the Coral in the summer at various festivals. Can't say I'm a huge Razorlight fan but the others are really good. Never managed to see Oasis. Perhaps I should...

Bring on Wednesday...Foos, Futureheads and Eagles of Death Metal(nodding2fingers)

If yesterday is anything to go by then you are in for something special although I suspect that it will be slightly better at MEN because it is the Foos own show. Didn't know the Futureheads were supporting, they are a top quality band.

FF were amazing and Taylor's drum solos were breathtaking, my ears ar still ringing now!!!!!!:pff

When I saw the FF at Leeds / T in the Park, Mr Grohl did a drum solo... any chance of that on Weds, you reckon?

From what I've heard Dave takes the drums in most shows now during 'A Cold Day In The Sun' which Taylor sings.
