Looking at getting a house on Harron Homes new development in Mapplewell.

They've got a development in Lundwood, just wondered if anyone has bought one, and what their experiences are and how they're finding their house.

Hoping to pop down at the weekend to have a look.

    Cheers

My daughter has been to look at one near Pontefract (same build /design as one she liked the look of on the phase two at Lundwood but not started yet)

Loved it but overheard a builder (all SE contractors) moaning about a customer complaining about snagging). look at Harron Homes reviews on the internet. Aftersales/build quality and poor materials seems to be a big issue with them. But not having personal experience I can only go on what I read. It was enough to put my daughter and son-in-law off though.

Prices attractive for new build but perhaps that is the reason.

Have lived on the Ben bailey estatate down Klondike at west green for the past 5 years and I have no complaints, house is well insulated so it doesn't take two minutes to warm up so heating bill is a lot cheaper than when I lived in my old terrace up cudeth. As for harron homes if you go down st Helens way in monk Bretton there's new estate down there that harron homes knocked up about 5 or 6 years ago, might give you an idea what their developments are like, sithi.

Find one that's been lived in for five years. Snagging will be sorted and you'll not have to worry about are dropping out its valuation.

I've worked for em.....they're *****. Very disorganised in their build meaning they always seem to end up rushing them. Been like that on the various sites I've worked on.

Mine was brand new when I bought it. Think it's great, next time we move will be to another new build.

Electric and gas bills are a fraction of what I was paying in my previous house. My house is 10 years old now and still don't need heating on in winter for more than an hour.

not had any problems at all, we can't here next door either.

We live quite line near railway and never hear trains.

Most prople who slag off new builds have never lived in one
