Mrs Burgundy Red and I were discussing earlier on how 20 years ago or more there were plenty of TV shows with what certification boards these days refer to as "mild peril", e.g. The A-Team, Dukes of Hazzard, Walker Texas Ranger, Magnum, The Avengers, Quincy etc. but that these days we have things like CSI and Silent Witness where extremely violent scenarios are routinely portrayed ("I saw some ordinary slaughter, I saw some routine atrocity" - Nick Cave). So the question is: are there any "family" programmes being made these days with what one might term "mild peril"?

My neighbour remembers as a child aged 11 or 12 regularly asking a complete stranger to take her into the cinema as many films were classed as 'A' which meant that children had to be accompanied by an adult.
(nothing to do with your original post!)
