    Hi.

Any recommendations for Lodge/Log Cabin breaks in the UK? Any websites etc appreciated. Have already looked at the popular ones, Hoseasons/Forest Holidays etc.

    Thanks

    Hornsea Lakeside is nice......

If you fancy emptying your wallet then Brompton Lakes at Richmond are stunning. But so is the price!!!

Any preferred location LEE. ? I've stayed in one in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders owned by The Spinney Hotel
    Langlee, Jedburgh TD8 6PB tel: 01835 863525 e-mail thespinney@btinternet.com

We also had a few days at one in Scarborough re- Falsgrave Leisure and Lodges 07711 610799
    e-mail enquiries@scarboroughlogcabins.co.uk
Would recommend either. Very quiet close to all amenities.

If you fancy branching out, cottages are very good, I use STS - Snowdonia tourist services, loads on there

If you fancy the Lake District, there's a site called park foot on the banks of ullswater.

They do camping - but mainly over the road. Their main business is the main site, caravans (privately owned, no rentals), and they have at last count over a dozen cottages/cabins that they rent out on a weekly basis.

We (extended family inc parents and grandparents) rent one or two out, depending on the total of us going, for a week once or twice a year.

Stunning views, nice village (Pooley Bridge) with a few nice boozers a ten minute walk, lovely hill walks (including for dogs if you have them, for some of the properties they accept pets though not all), on site shop and clubhouse/restaurant. But never loud or lacking in the countryside vibe. Ullswater and the surrounding area is much less 'touristy' than say Keswick or Windermere but still well stocked for pubs and shops and both are a short drive away if you want to go.

Not necessarily the very cheapest, but reasonable compared with most; if you can go outside of school holidays even better. Cheaper and quieter.

2 or 3 log cabin holiday resorts around Dundee. Are you into golf mate.
Piper Dam and Drumoig in N. Fife but only 5 miles from Dundee would suit.

And if required I could be available as a local guide. ;)

Lovely, cheers everyone. Apologies, initial post was a bit vague. Ideally looking Yorkshire region as we will have my elderly grandmother (87) with us and she's not one for sitting in cars for very long. Looking at first weekend after new year for 3 nights (Fri-Sun)...

Fantastic place 3 hours away in Scotland. Best place around and very cheap at that time of year. A beautiful location in peace and tranquility.
