I'm thinking about a city break later in the year and have found some good deals to Tallinn, but I know nothing about the place. I just wondered what its like/is it an expensive city?? Would you recommend going?? I've asked questions like this before and you lot have always steered me right, your quite a knowledgeable bunch. TIA
Went in May 2012 for a mid week break. There were six of us, all re-cycled teenagers who like to mosey around, see the sights and have a few drinks. Tallinn is a beautiful place, very friendly and very cheap. We caught a normal service bus from the airport to the centre and had no idea where we were in relation to our hotel, but a local teenager got off the bus with us and found our hotel for us. Unless you are a stag party I'd try and avoid a week end and stay mid week. Plenty to see and do for a couple of days but not much longer. We all enjoyed it and would go back sometime. Far more to see and do if you try either Prague or Budapest, and both are as picturesque and as cheap. Hope this helps
That sounds perfect. I wouldn't be going for a mad one.... bit of sight seeing, decent food and drink. If its as nice as you've said and cheap, cant think of anywhere more suitable. What I'd priced up was flying out Monday morning, coming back Friday lunchtime, 3* hotel £180. Thanks for your help. I knew someone would know if I asked on here.
Did some work with Estonia Post a few years back, lovely place, very old and unspoiled. First meeting was in February and 36 below, can't remember being colder, the work took place in the spring and it was lovely.
Also see this deal.... http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/mar...s-hotel-flight-3-148-per-couple-4-165-1801190 very tempting!
I went with a few mates for my 40th Birthday a few years back. Tallinn is a very picturesque city with an old part of the city. A few things to do & visit but probably not much for more than 2 or 3 days. We went for 4 days and on one of them we went on the ferry to Helsinki, which took a couple of hours (?) and that was well worth a day visit.
Oh and it was colder than I expected, we went in September time and it was colder than it is here at the moment
Had my stag party there. No idea if the place is any good as I was spannered. Allegedly the lads really enjoyed it & we didn't get arrested much. I wouldn't suggest wandering around in the sub-zero temperatures in a pink PVC catsuit. FFS.
