latest update has apparently caused users on some ISP to be unable to connect to the Internet.

Presumably someone who goes by the name ' Mrs Baldrick' for Microsoft issued the following advice...

"Some customers using Windows 10 have reported difficulties connecting to the internet," said a spokeswoman for Microsoft.

As a first step, we recommend customers restart their PCs.
If this does not resolve the problem, visit our website for further support."

Can anyone see the problem in their cunning plan?

Nearly as bad as when the telephone pole on my street got knocked over, the cable from the house was then cut by Openreach...I rang my provider, EE, for an update and they suggested I restart my router.

If anyone is having this problem. Right click start icon, left click device manager. When that comes up left click network connections. Everything that says WAN miniport at the start, right click it and left click uninstall. Restart computer and you should connect OK then.

I guess in this age of multiple device ownership they just expect or assume you'll have other access to the internet. It does remind me of a time at work when we had some server issues and the team who looked after the infrastructure back then issued the warning and an update by email.

The email read. There are issues with the exchange server affecting the receiving of and sending of emails. Further updates to follow as we make progress.
