    Can any of you help?

    Been to a wedding recently where they played Gimme Some, a song I remember well from my younger days in the 80s. Most of the people from Barnsley/Sheffield at the wedding were into it, doing all the moves but everyone from the South had puzzled looks and did not know the song. Is this just a Northern thing? Why was/is it so popular?
