About a year ago we bought some Tefal pans. They weren't cheap. but they were reduced. They are lovely, coated, non-stick pans. Unfortunately, the handle weighs more than the base, so basically they can't stand up, unless they are full of water. They just topple over. Meal times in our house now consist of rummaging around for something to safely prop up the pans on. Maybe not quite as disastrous as Jay's Solar Panels, but mega annoying. How can pans be so hard to design?
And yet I wouldn't buy another another brand for my pans, had then 10 years and all is still great with them.
That's why I bought them ... reputable brand .... but it's unbelievable - they can't stand up. To be honest it's dangerous.
It's a brilliant design. It's a safety feature - if you leave one of the pans bubbling away and forget about it, and it boils dry, it automatically removes itself from the heat source by toppling over and falling on the floor. One day it could save your house from burning down.
By the way, my worst purchase was an en-suite hotel reservation in Sussex Gardens, London, 5th April 2008
Oh, I stayed at that place the day after the semi-final. It was okay, but some get had nicked the curtain from the bathroom...
