Forgive my ignorance, but didn't the Blunts terminate Evans' contract upon his guilty verdict? So what decision are they making? I know this is the club who has no morals, with a set of supporters who chant about Evans shagging who he wants, and chant about Captain Elbows, who still blame Tevez, employed Marlon King and welcomed the best manager they've had in years with 'Wilson Out' demonstrations, but surely the Blunts aren't this desperate, are they?

I hope he rejoins em. Gets fit. Makes his second debut on November 1. And #BigfcukingJean snaps him in half.

They sacked him when he was found guilty so looks like they believed the outcome as they didn't stand by him. So if they sign him back up does that mean that whilst he's been inside they have decided the jury was wrong and they themselves were wrong to sack him?

They did sack him, as they had to. However er who's to say they haven't kept in touch and informed as to his situation.

Guilty as charged and shouldn't be held up a hero or a role model imho

I would pay good money to see Big Jean or Rampage land on his big smug head.

Listening to 20,000 Blunts serenading their 'rapey' hero for 90 minutes before Sam Winnall takes out the net at the kop end in stoppage time from 40 yards.

    Yes, please.

Or the snapping him in half bit. I'm not fussy.

A convicted rapist is a perfect fit for Sheffield United.

I wish them a long and unhappy union.

its a weird situation, and I'm not trying to defend a convicted "rapist" its not like he beat the crap out of her or forced her she was to drunk to say no, or yes for that matter ( there but for the grace of god go I, and no doubt many, many more men) but non the less he was found guilty, the question is: hes done his time so why shouldn't he be allowed to carry on working at his chosen trade/occupation? if he was a binman, architect, mechanic, would there be an objection to him resuming that occupation or will there be a list of jobs that convicted people can or cant persue, I understand that a peado cant teach and stuff like that please people i.m not trying to defend anything or make light of the crime of rape just IN MY OPINION theres different degrees like in burglary, robbery, armed robbery, robbery with violence. I think he should be allowed back playing and yes I hope someone like big jean snaps him but just because hes a deedah and nothing else

Good article and I agree with every word. I should also point out that if a professional athlete saw it upon himself to shove his dick in me when I wasn't wanting it (which, I have to admit, has been every second I have been alive), I would be considering that a violent act, whether he punched me about the head or not.

All scumbag human beings yet football clubs back them pay them thousands of pounds a week and give them privileges and celebrity status and allow kids to worship them and see them as role models.

Another part of what is wrong with modern day football.

He's already lost an appeal and he hasn't completed his sentence just because he gets out the nick after 2 years, he can be recalled at any time and even after 5 yrs he will be on licence and the sex offenders register, don't think he'll be allowed abroad

When I hear the not rreally rape thing it makes my skin crawl. I can only imagine the devastation the girl and her family have experienced. I look at my little girl, thankfully still young enough to like play dough more than falling out taxis and try to imagine of Evans had done what he did with this lass makes me feel ill. I am all for the rehabilitation and believe even the hardest of criminals can change. But to do so they have to face the impact of their actions. Evans refuses to do so.

The simplest thing given that he will come into contact with young vulnerable people would be to give him a CRB check. If he passes he's in if not he seeks a profession where he does not come into contact with potential victims. Seems a fair approach to me.

I'm not really sure what the word 'violent' has to do with anything.

For me it's all about the word 'consent' and none was knowingly given.

What's it matter whether the victims fighting the attacker off or too drunk to try & stop him? In both cases there's no consent.
