If you could name five local people you would like to be on a non political version of Question Time who would you pick? I just tried and it's a tough one. I'm thinking along the lines of who you maybe respect or who you think would be interesting to listen to. I'll grant you one non Barnsley but Yorkshire person to add to the panel. I'd go:- Jenni Murray (Woman's Hour presenter on Radio 4) Parky (he does have a fund of stories about Barnsley Football and cricket from when he was growing up which I loved reading years ago) Patrick Cryne (I've enjoyed listening to him speak in the past) Kate Rusby (talented girl, seems very rooted in Barnsley) Alan Bennet - cos he's brilliant. reserve list Ian McMillan, Joanne Harris
She's passed now bless her, often seen with bloomers round her ankles dancing away in the Dev through the 80s.
I worked in Silvers around 1990 and the landlord decided she was allowed in.... Until the second time she pissed on one of the seats.
Ohh ..... Arthur Scargill (obvs) Frank Carter (business man and on all the committees... think he's from Hull (also adds spice as him and Scargill's politics are polar opposite) Toby Foster (for entertainment) Parkinson Kate Busby I think we need Hecky in reserve though, along with Ian McMillan. Edit: I forgot Brian Blessed. Sorry, Kate or Parky, you're in reserve Edit2: Blessed is Doncaster.
