Norwegian Emo power popsters ‘Lukestar’ are visiting Barnsley this Friday as part of their UK tour, which is also including London, Glasgow and Liverpool. The Olso five piece have been featured on the American record label Deep Elm’s compilation album along side Jimmy Eats World and The Appleseed Cast. With their first album, ‘Alpine Unit’ they made themselves known as one of Norway's most promising pop bands, and received enthusiastic reviews, both in the media and from the public. Supporting them are alternative/experimental band ‘Deathofafilmstar’ who originate from Liverpool. Also on the bill are local lads Mid-Air 91, these young pop-punksters are really making a name for themselves on the local gigging circuit. This all takes place at The Arches, Pitt Street Barnsley. Doors open at 8pm and the venue will be open until 1am.

Might take a wander down, can I bring my own beer in?

    £1 or £2, don't quite know

Only underage drinkers try to bring in there own beer, I know you are a bit of a beer snob. They have Coors on draft which is quite nice, apart from that it's the usual suspects.

Not going to be able to make it I'm afraid!

I'm going to have to "babysit" my old man instead - he's having a cataract operation tomorrow and needs someone to stay with him tomorrow night at home. Which means a riveting evening's entertainment (blagger) (zzz)

I'll take a few bottles of beer over and a good book - no Sky telly there, no internet - it'll be like going back in time!
