I actually thought we played some decent football at times today and didn't deserve to lose.

    That's football.

If you defend like that you deserve nothing else.

The first goal was a shambles. Howard didn't track back quick enough to assist Heckingbottom who was too easily turned. Then both centre halves stood off allowing him space to aim an unhurried shot on goal. It was a very good finish but a la Ginola vs Spurs, looked a lot better for the fact that our entire back line were willing to let him run straight past unchallenged.

Second was from a bit of confusion on the edge of the box and instead of clearing our lines, the ball ended up deflecting to an unmarked man to fire home.

The third again came from danger on the left flank. Full back in absentis leads to good cross finding unmarked man smack in the centre of the box.

The second was slightly unlucky, but nonetheless preventable. The other two were just pitiful. Our recent successes have been down to closing down players quickly and limiting time on the ball. Today, we stood off, lost concentration and paid a heavy price.
