Souza was covering the man with the ball and for some reason Foster went towards the man as well leaving a big hole for the goalscorer to run through-and van Houmet was the wrong side of the scorer

I noticed Foster charge towards the man, like you said, left a big hole in the middle. Poor defending all round really. The highlights just go to show how easily they could and maybe should have scored more

Well, when the back 4 are left woefully exposed by an ineffective central midfield there's only one outcome. I particularly liked how the Norwich chap meandered from the halfway line to our penalty box without so much as an angry glance from Howard or McCann.

Common cliche that every fan sees themself as a manager, but why could EVERYONE in the ground see we were being over run in midfield and that even after the first 5-10 minutes of the second half we needed to change things. The game at 1-1 was screaming out for Togwell...but no...the one man who mattered failed to see the problem or do anything about it

    My view

As well as Davey's done this season, he can't change things as they happen. We don't seem able to respond to the other team.

    Our Midfield Four

    Has anyone seen them about?

Last seen at about 3:45pm on Saturday. No reward is offered.

    I concur

But I would also add that playing Howard and McCann as the midfield partnership in the first place bordered on the insane.

Togwell gets a slating on here regularly

But he gets about the opposition and gets his foot in. McCann can't move.

    not quite true...................

his impression of an estuary dredger turning 360 degrees in 15 minutes to get the ball on his left foot is quite impressive

Togwell's passing is poor...but like you said he gets the tackles in...I don't remember a tackle on Saturday!

Gotta agree with Jay as well...McCann and Howard together in the middle with 2 wingers is just asking for trouble. Just pray he learns not to play them both in the middle again!

Togwell has taken a right hammering for last few weeks.

But if Davey plays Howard and Mccann in the middle again he needs his head checking. Provides absolutely no cover to the defence, they both disappeared completely in the second half. It was obvious we needed a change. "Togwell can't pass", but Howard and Mccann didn't even get near the ball. Let's hope Anderson comes in this week, because the midfield is really struggling.

i like brian howard ithink hes arguably our best player. but sometimes he seems to back off making tackles in middfield as if its not his problem, and then throws his arms up when somebody misses tackle he should have made in first place.

That is exactly what happened for their first goal on Saturday. He stood and watched as the player went past him with ball. Made no attempt to stop him, either fairly or otherwise.
