This week I discuss the weekend's defeat against Port Vale, how me and bossman saw their first goal coming, the efforts of those involved in Redfearn's and WSB... as well as asking where do we go from here, what is Michael Smith and featuring me finding out we've signed another loanee whilst talking about loanees, and me singing at the end. Cheers.
Entertaining as always... apart from the singing. Can I just take issue with you about Marley Watkins. Not only is he useless as a forward, he is useless on the wing as well. Now I know that you are statto, and that you have already pointed out that he has most assists this season, but I don't care. I don't take any notice of statistics. I rely on my own opinion, and my opinion is that he is poor.
Good listen that, no surprise to see a Ritchie with the best record for something What do you think? icer tingleytyke
I thought Hourihane played well on Saturday, well enough to make me question my previously stated view about his effectiveness in a midfield two. We dominated possession and the midfield was definitely not the reason that we lost. After the game, Johnson stated that they had been working on both Hourihane and on Pearson, who has apparently never played in a midfield two at Manchester United. I look forward to checking them out again at Oldham, who will not be as willing to concede the middle of the park as Port Vale were. Watkins does not make the right runs to be a striker. He just does not have a strikers instincts. He would definitely have scored from the second of those crosses across the 6 yard box if he had. My problems with him as a winger are that he is not quick enough, he does not cross well enough and he plays with his head down. I was absolutely gutted on Saturday night, in fact I was too gutted to post a minority report. Actually, it would not have been a minority report in any event. Like almost everyone else, I thought that we dominated the game and should have won it, but we were poor where it matters, at either end of the pitch.
Completely disagree, he puts some great crosses in, but when he's played, it's because we've had one striker in the box or the two lumps in Wilkinson/Smith to aim for, IMO he's been our best player this season and if i had to chose my Player of The Season so far i'd vote him.
I'd prefer to see thi on xfactor Andrew, ratings would go through the roof ;-), good listen again pal
That ship sailed a while ago, mate. I don't really have that urge anymore. I just do the **** I do now for my own amusement if anything. Others say they find em a giggle and that, so that's a bonus I suppose. But I did media at Barnsley college in my late teens, passed it no bother, was meant to carry on and go to uni etc, but saw all my mates already earning and ****** it off to follow them. Like a wally. I've thought of doing some kind of part-time thing, learning etc, but not in that field. As I say, I don't really have the desire any longer to work in that industry. But I'm really into languages though, at the minute (I say minute because I get bored of things quickly). I'm looking to do two things next year - pass my driving test at long last, and learn summat different. Oh, and stop smoking. But I say that every year. Appreciate your suggestion though. With it being Bradford n all. 10 years ago I'd have been all over it.
Take issue with anything you like, mate. I think for a freebie signing he's been decent. And he's contributed massively to be fair, whether you like stats or not, they're difficult to argue with regards Marley. He is very bad for not looking up though, he's always running with his head down, as do most of our players, it's something I moan about a lot. That and totally one-footed laikers. Just seem very simple things to learn from the outset. I was never going to make it myself professionally, although I tried. But I could laik with both feet and played with my head up. Because I had it drummed into me to do it. I'm assuming it's no longer important in the modern game. But when I look at the players from the past who I loved and the ones I love now, they're usually adept at that.
