Davey says that an unsuccessful appeal would see the ban increased.

    Is that true?????

    Surely they cant do that.

It has been known but even the World commentator was mystified as to why Nardi walked so there must be reasonable grounds for an appeal!

he's not appealing because of lack of video evidence apparently

I would have thought that would be reasonable grounds FOR appeal.

As it was an away game so video evidence was out of our control. Had it been an home game then I would agree that a lack of video evidence would be our fault (eg Austin against donny) but in an away game then the home team should shoulder that responsibility.

Nardiello can't prove that he didn't break any rules because of their mistake but also nobody can prove that he did break a rule.

I don't think video footage has anything to do with the club.
Besides, the ref has the incident in his report, to overturn that the League need video footage, if that’s not there then they have to take the refs word. They would need conclusive evidence to the contrary to overturn a decision.

I thought that the home team is responsible for providing video coverage of every match for the use in tv highlights, video evidence etc.

And given the ref's dodgy honesty/competency records lately I wouldn't believe half of them about anything unless they can prove it. Then again I don't trust the FA either, especially after the 'live, random' FA cup draw last year (i think) when the TV camera's cut to a teams dressing room to get the reaction of their drawer BEFORE they'd been drawn out of the hat to play chelsea.

goes something like this i think

If the ref has it in his report then the league do not look at it unless the affending players team requests a review. At a review they can obviously either stand by it, reduce it or increase it. If there is not enough evidence to change the refs view it stands.

So there is a possibility of it increasing, more chance of it standing due to lack of evidence, and doesn't it cost us for the review if it doesn't change.
