    ........... it's a risk.
But it's a risk that Hecky is likely to take in this one, as he may feel that starting with 2 quick strikers will have some joy against relatively slow centre backs.

But that means midfield will be one short.
If Potts is fit that would mean McGeehan on the bench - unless of course Hecky wants to keep more defensive cover there - and in that case McGeehan would start.
Team news could be a bit different this time.

I couldn't sleep either pal. There's a boozer in Wombwell opens at 7am if you fancy an early morning 'foooooking' pint?
As for the formation, I suspect we'll see 442 at some stage today, depending how the old 451's faring after an hour.

Chances are we will lose playing that formation with the currently fit squad

You're possibly right. Potts has had mixed reviews, so far, but he left a huge void in the middle when he went off last week and we went 442.
It's a tough call, I think many would like to see Thiam get a start alongside Bradshaw, hence 442, but our best football has been 451, though must be soul destroying for Bradshaw getting knocked about, up top, on his own every week.

I think 4-4-2 could work with Williams and Mcgeehan in the centre, they are both quick and mobile, much like Hourihane and Scowen were. Potts would be no good in a 4-4-2 because he is too slow and cumbersome. For it to work it needs everyone to be putting a shift in, starting with the front two, Bradshaw no problem, Thiam we don't yet know much about. It would be a gamble, but it could work and be more effective with the right personnel.

Whatever it is this needs to stop happening

    • So far in this campaign, Barnsley have lost seven points from winning positions at Oakwell; no Championship side have given up more at home.

Potts too slow and cumbersome??? !!!
Yer watching a different player to me.
He's one of our best players.
Driving from midfield Potts takes a lot of stopping.

We were shocking with 451 last week, hardly seeing the ball. We have thrown away so many points from a winning position and can't buy a clean sheet. We need to try something different instead of the lone striker ******** all the time, whilst a couple that could be up there helping are instead bench warming. Playing a team without a win in 24 away games we should be super confident today of three points.

Unfortunately what I've seen whilst he seems to drove forward well. He doesn't seem to reverse at all

Until we get a strong commanding ball winner in midfield 442 is a non starter

Too slow getting up and down the pitch box to box yes. He's alright in behind the striker being a nuisance, a poor mans Fellaini.
    Much prefer Mcgeehan.

    Shocking! Really?
I thought we came up against a very good side. I expect the same starting formation with the chance to change it if necessary like last week.

Shocking? Wouldn't go that far... we set up most weeks to let the opposition have the ball. Yes boro had more possession and than we would have liked but how many more chances did they create for all that possession? NOT MANY

We more than held our own against a £70+ million team

I think we need someone like Joe Williams in midfield.

No Potts, and Mcgeehan and Williams in the centre of midfield, we shall see how it pans out.
