Some of our players need to have a look at themselves after todays inept display. Charlton had free headers all afternoon. If youre not going to contest free kicks and crosses the at least try to win the second ball. We didnt do that either. Too many players didnt look interested today. It was like a pre season game at times.

The manager picks the team and formation and gives instructions.

If anyone can explain his plan today then please let me know cos I cant understand it!!

That is a stonking away line up to play on the counter attack (a la Hillsborough). Three defensive midfielders protecting the back four and the pace of Mifsud and JCR to hurt them on the break. Not what you want to see as the home team though. We lost midfield though when we did introduce some width.

So by your reckoning Davey told them not to jump for headers then? nt

Manager dont control individual players actions on pitch

but does tell them the formation to play and explains what he wants them to do on the field.

What was he trying to do today? I cant see what his game plan was?

Dwarfs eventually give up trying to compete with giants, cos they realize there's no point. They start wondering about the tactics that have them looking up in the sky all the time, waiting for something to fall from it.

They're used to a ball to feet, or to run on to.

I think that was the worst match I've seen this season.......SHOCKING !!!

We were so frightend of losing we couldn't go out and win it...........it was terrible

We have got to pick up or we are relegated...........simple as
Anyother team in this division would have beaten us today

You miss my point completely mate

Im not questioning wether his choice of personel or formation was right or wrong. Im talking about certain players not stepping up to the mark.

No.. I mean the tactics were wrong and not addressed until

it was almost too late. I'm convinced players were confused as to what their role was today. the central midfield was busier than a shopping centre near christmas. We had no width, but had 3 good wingers in the matchday squad.
IMHO Davy ,on many occassions uneccessarily introduces things thats not required We had enough ammunition out there today to have blown a very poor Charlton side away. Instead, we're left hanging on for a point.

He says himself that he's not a target man, and wasn't bought as such. Watch his youtube dvd.

I think you will find in his interview when he first signed he said hes not a target man and likes the ball played into his feet.

I dont disagree I just saw too many half hearted challenges and ball watching today. After Tuesdays battling performance I found it unnaceptable. Each player is responsible for his own endeavour. Thats all my point is.

    Who?

I thought the midfield was weak today and Mifsud was isolated but there were many reasons for that.

Bogdanovic drifted away to right wing almost constantly.

Anderson, Colace and Teymourin all competing for central balls but not really taking any resposibility for driving the attacks.

JCR did plenty of running but no end product at all and certainly not 'scaring defence by running at them' as Davey says he does best.

If players cant understand system how can they excell?

No Im not slagging him off at all.

Thought he looked good first time out. He was as bad as everyone else today though.

players weren't giving 100% but the 'manager' only made two changes

That really sums him up doesn't it.
