Devastated at the 'performance' some of those players put in today. I really feel for Jim O'Brien at the minute, if the rest put half as much effort in as he does then we'd be half way up the table. Huge job for Wilson and it emphasises even more how he needs at least 2 years in the job now to sort this mess out. Hopefully he can get some players in for the second half of the season to try and help us but I can't see us staying up now!! Think it's about time O'Brien was given the captaincy, least he'll bollock some of his team mates and lead by example.
I feel sorry for O'Brien too, I always do. If we go down he'll be genuinely gutted. I imagine half of the others would happily play for any Championship club who would have them, and don't particularly care about Barnsley. Not sure about the captaincy though, I'd like to see him rewarded with it, but he's possibly a little bit too emotional/sulky at times.
I think we need someone like that though, someone that cares and can get them going. When the 2nd went in today, the back 4 just turned and walked back to the half way line. O'Brien was on his knees, absolutely gutted. It's so nice to see someone genuinely care for the club and have pride in his performance. Think Wilson rates him highly as well and appreciates his commitment.
