I did that 3 years since, vowed not to touch another drop.... Didnt last long although I must admit I have been a bit wary round Holiday periods

Wouldn't it have been easier to cut down with a view to stopping?

Kev and myself are trying to lose weight and it's not going to be easy, I have a sweet tooth and Kev has a big appetite!

That's my birthday !!!!!

 

I got into some bad habits

drinking virtually every night:</p>

- wasted the evenings
- wasn't sleeping well
- couldn't deal with hangovers
- very expensive
- anti-social
- putting on weight
- eating badly (hangovers make me crave junk food)
- self loathing
- I just turned 42 and feel and look 82
- low self esteem
- lack of confidence
- poor concentration
- affected my ability to go out running due to always feeling rough

By the way, most women say to me, &quot;who don't you just cut back? You don't have to stop altogether&quot;. But I do,I am a binary drinker, once the cork is opened the red mist rises and there's no looking back. The aim is to stay off the grog for as long as I can, until I can trust myself to drink like a normal person. Responsibly.</p>

I know what you mean Airy

In some ways it's easier to just stop completely than "cut down a little"

It can be difficult to cut down because you get into a routine or you have a couple and got the taste for it

 

They think it's all over ....

... it is now, as of 19:03hrs, 14th Jan. My mistake was watching Barnsley yesterday ...
