RE: If the board can't be bothered to invest, why should fans be bothered to turn up? The Board can be bothered to invest - Gordon Shepherd has openly stated that money is available for the right kind of players. It's just that the Board's idea of 'the right kind of players' and Andy Ritchie's are poles apart.
RE: If the board can't be bothered to invest, why should fans be bothered to turn up? manager and the board cant seem to be arsed, bfc have rolled over like a dead dog
RE: If the board can't be bothered to invest, why should fans be bothered to turn up? Even if money is available, that money can not be used until January!!!! The whole point of a transfer window. Yes, we can loan players but the type of player up for loan is either a youngster (who 95% of this board say we don't need) or a player on 10K+ a week.
RE: If the board can't be bothered to invest, why should fans be bothered to turn up? I agree with you - they don't seem to be doing everything within their collective powers to give the club the best possible chance of staying up.
RE: If the board can't be bothered to invest, why should fans be bothered to turn up? other clubs can get f******g loan players
RE: If the board can't be bothered to invest, why should fans be bothered to turn up? Steve McPhail hit the nail on the head when he said that the club would have to invest in at least 6/7 good players to have a realistic chance of cutting it in the Championship. At the time I thought he was arrogant and disrespectful to his teammates, but I now see that he was just speaking the truth and justifying his own ambition. With hindsight, we went into the season naive and under prepared, bringing in just 3 new players in McIndoe, Togwell and Coulsen (two of whom were Shepherd's suggestions when Andy was away on holiday; the third a kid with potential for the future and certainly nowhere near ready for the pressures of this division). Realistically speaking, which of Andy's personal signings would you say have been a success?
