really poor journey with the fog coming in. One of the characteristics of an effective new manager is that he starts off by making histeam hard to beat and, although we soaked up a lot of pressure today, we kept our shape and brought home the points. This is a good foundation on which to build. I will do a match analysis sometime on Sunday. I look forward to watching the further development of the team under Robins. Two really well-taken goals today and that makes up a lot for Tuesday's disappointment. Sterling performance from Jonny Macken and a few others. Match analysis from me sometime on Sunday afternoon.
Isn't it interesting that in the past few weeks we've not only won deservedly against Burnley and West Brom, but also ground out wins against Ipswich, Donny and Peterborough when under the previous incumbent, we would have been fully expected to throw those 9 points away (or at least 6 of them!). 3 times now under Robins already we've come back from behind to take all 3 points.
Good performance today. I thought Jon Macken played really well - provided a great outswinging cross for Boggy's goal and then smashed in from a narrow angle for his goal. He was always awkward up front for their defenders. Shotton played well against a tricky winger. We were under the cosh a bit in the 2nd half for around 10 minutes, but we weathered that, and had the ball in the net late on, but ruled offside. Support was terrific, with non-stop chanting for most of the match. Surprised JCR was not used to replace Adam Hammill, although disappointed that he didn't appear on the pitch after the final whistle to congratulate his team mates. The other subs did.
