forever remembered by me, for his last interview, which turned out to be one of the biggest load of old b0llocks in recent times. ni mind. plenty more CEOs in the sea.
He's a massive contributor in my mind to Val and Mowatt leaving and us only signing one first team player this close season. Not ideal preparation. I know he doesn't sign the cheques but it hasn't helped. I'd wish him well but I'll hazard a guess a few of our targets will be wearing the red of Forest next season or the indigo stripes of West Brom.
I don't understand the credit or grief we give CEOs IMHO. They work within the constraints given by the Board, execute on a pre set strategy, support buying players identified by the recruitment team & as such are just a part of a bigger machine. It's nowhere near the same role as in other businesses or football clubs and probably why we've had a massive turnover of people - and probably why the last three we've had have never done the role before. Wish him well. Not that arsed.
We need to get rid of some as we still have a top heavy squad , plenty of dead wood eating up the wages , for me a couple of new recruits would be fine but as I said moving a few on would be better , not that easy though
I agree there are a few players I'd get rid of if they aren't going to feature. Mowatt is a massive loss but we still have Ritzmaier, Christie Davies, Palmer, Moon, Kane, Wolfe and Styles vying for a two berth in central midfield. If we sign a replacement it's just an extra head and somebody else further down the pecking order to shift on. It's a definite problem because we do still need to bring in someone with that quality exhibited by Mowatt.
19 word title. When BFC get around to announcing anything on it, then it may prove to be longer than the official statement.
I agree with this, to an extent, and it looked to be the case in Dane's first season, when he looked like a deer caught in the headlights at times. However, he did seem to grow into the role and became something of an effective communicator. Arguably, he also deserves the majority of the credit for the Dike loan signing. However, even if literally a figurehead intended to be the mouthpiece of an ownership who are poor at communicating, I'm still failing to see any justification as to why you would employ a CEO on a fixed-term contract that you simply allow to expire. He was either so good that he got poached from us without any need for compensation, or he was so terrible that we simply let the contract run out naturally (in which case, why was he still carrying out the role publicly until close to it's termination?) Looking forward to the official statement on this, as I remain at a total loss as to how it can possibly be justified as good business in terms of protecting BFC's interests.
Might be a Visa thing depending on agreement when he came over? I dunno, agree that bit is odd but I don't blame him for going or am that arsed that he is.
Says a lot when he never even announced what was going on at the end of his tenure. Spoke loads of ***** re Mowatt and the Dike “agreed” fee. Won’t get away with it at bigger clubs.
