It all got a bit silly didn't it? BBS seems a happier place again now, good to see some proper threads and posters out in force. Few thoughts and observations: It's ironic that the 2 most vocal anti- LJ posters seem to have got their wish!! Great win last night and a day out at Wembley is a welcome gift, whatever the competition. We played them off the park, which is a result of ........ Weeks and weeks of playing to our strengths and looking like a settled, happy, attacking side. The change of formation led directly to this. And it not only works, but it is a pleasure to watch too. I'd like to think that change is all down to the gaffer, but a tiny part of me can't help thinking he was told 'change it, or on your bike'. Whatever the reason, we changed and are reaping the rewards. Wembley is a bonus, but reaping the rewards is really in the league, where it matters. Who knows if this run is too late, but it's got us all going, and if I was moaning at wasting my dosh early in the season then conversely I am happy to take pleasure in and purr at our recent performances. My family joined me in hospitality (their 50th gift to me) for the Rochdale game and it was as good a time at Oakwell as I have ever had. I am looking forward to this run continuing and let's see where it takes us. And this gaffer situation. He is young and ambitious, and clearly wanting a long successful managerial career. I couldn't take to him at first, certainly didn't feel the love in the same way as Hunter, Wilson, Ritchie but as I say, he was young and I was happy to see him give it a go. Those feelings changed this season - he seemed stubborn. We could all see where it was going wrong but he alienated himself by persisting. I wasn't overly vocal in wanting hm out, but I wasn't happy. Then the change came, as mentioned that was either forced or down to him. Whatever the reason, it worked and we are where we are. Some important people held their nerve, the ship steadied and we are sailing full speed ahead. And this is why I now find myself wanting LJ to show the same loyalty and faith. Who knows if sacking him would have changed our fortunes? But it is fairly certain for him that he would either be in the bottom tier or even (God forbid) back at Oldham. Statistics don't lie, and the product and results early this season were dire but we stuck by him. He surely owes somebody a debt of gratitude? Not me, but surely Ben or Patrick. I'm not sure he'll be afforded that support at Brizzle should he revert to type as struggle. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
