Just said in the news bulletin on Radio Sheffield that Brian McDermott is hoping Neil Redfearn will stay at Leeds despite bring linked with the vacant managers job here.

Make of that what you will.

    I heard that.

No quotes. Pure speculation based on Redfearn's name being "among the contenders." A 50/1 contender too according to SkyBet and how thankful I am for it.

No first team management experience anywhere near this level. Recently won the Greatest Ever Barnsley Player poll and I fear it wouldn't take long for the knives to come out if he did somehow get the job and things didn't click and then his legacy would be tarnished.

I'm not sure he'd be the right man for the job at the moment, but it would be good to see him back at the club in some capacity and, if he carries on learning as he is doing, he may well be a Reds manager of the future.

Having said that, I don't buy into this 'experience is everything' theory. Allan Clarke, first job, promotion, Norman Hunter, first job, promotion, Danny Wilson, first job, promotion, Andy Ritchie, one previous job in the lower leagues from which he was sacked, promotion.
