Not shaking hands v the right to not get racially abused

    Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas said it is "extremely important" that Ferdinand shakes Terry's hand.

    "This game is based on good values more than anything else," he added.

    "These players should continue to promote these good values."


    I would argue the good value of not racially abusing someone is more important than the good value of shaking someones hand. If Ferdinand believes that Terry racially abused him them I would suggest he has every right not to shake his hand. (I'm not saying btw that Terry did, but Ferdinand clearly thinks he did and therefore would be completely justified in refusing to shake his hand.)
