Deep? This is a dusting compared to when I was a lad. That were snow. It's going to knacker the pitch at Oakwell.
Five years go we had just beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup and were looking forward to the semi final, it wasn't warm but it wasn't 0 degrees and didn't snow!
in 2008 it snowed on semi final day. We arrived at Stanmore tube station car park and it was a white out.
West Yorkshire is definately bad. I'd say it's even worse than the flurry in January. Huddersfield Examiner as it down as 50 hours of continuous snowfall from today until sunday afternoon.
There is not a snow flake here in Dundee but I do remember when I could watch football in such conditions.
The snow here in Bradford is about 3 foot deep in parts. In fact, Look North had a reporter stood outside in it, just up the road from us (Clayton) in Queensbury, and they said we were the worst affected area. It even put paid to my work today. No way was I playing at being a farmer in this weather. I was born in August for fcuks sake. I can't handle this ****.
Haha nothing like being keen. Just found it strange to celebrate a semi final appearance. Anyway good on them.
Do you know how long it was between our semi final appearances?? Got to make the best of it when we can !
TBH mate when we DO avoid the drop I sincerely hope them team celebrate with an open top bus parade through the town. It has proved to be a very tough season but it looks like we may have come through against all the odds. I certainly don't want to be coming down visiting and to be watching div 1 football.
We had to get to Wembley somehow! It was the best part of the day. Apart from Hicksy losing my exquisitely crafted tin foil cup off the back of the bus somewhere up the Edgware Road. But I promised I wouldn't mention that again. Time to move on.
Ah! right, getting to Wembley for the play offs. That makes a difference. Bet you had a great day then. One to tell the grandchildren.
