Never a pen the first thing the defender knew was when the ball hit him, you could see his head jerk round to look at it. I actually felt a bit sorry for Leicester watching that - and I hate Leicester.
Re: Never a pen clearly wasn't deliberate and although I have seen many similar decisions given it seems officials are losing their understanding of the law which to my knowledge its only a foul if the handball is deliberate so it shouldn't matter if the handball stops an opposition player tapping it in or whatever if it was clearly accidental as in the forest game; completely obvious that his hand was already on the ground and it just rolled into him
Booking Agreed, to further confuse things, the ref booked the player rather than send him off. As far as I know a deliberate handball to prevent a goal should be a straight red.
I think its a case of referees being afraid to use common sense. TBH I thought the ref had to give a penalty. The ball was heading for the goal, and if it had been us, we'd have been in uproar. The booking was not needed or deserved. I think it was completely accidental. Referees HAVE to have some discretion in the game. The demand for "consistent" refereeing is impossible.
