No left back, no left sided midfield player, our best centre half at right back, an outrageously slow centre half pairing, a right back in central midfield and all this before injuries and suspensions start to mount up. The squad is so unbalanced it's scary. Unfortunately, Mr Davey has stated that we're going with what we've got and that leaves me very fearful for this season. I've got my season ticket, I'll be there to cheer the lads on, but I'm very worried about our chances.

Not seen Moore play for us but if the reports are valid Davey has to move Foster to centre back at the side of Souza.

I thought Moore would have been a good signing for us 10 years ago but he's 36 now isn't he?

Thought Moore did OK tonight. Fair enough against lower league but won most in air and even controlled it out from the back well. Couple of good challenges too

I would only disagree in that injuries and suspension have already mounted up!

Foster has played well at right back before but I wqould prefer him at center back, Moore from the sounds has had a mixed start, my concern is the lack of pace ot center back as Frazer Campbell exposed this last season.

I would not say the team is unbalanced as we have never had a consistent left winger since McIndoe, Hassell seems to be 4th choice center midfield (I know ahead of Togwell who only signed a new deal last season) who is ok but not a natural midfielder especially on the ball, I'd be more concerned if he was ahead of colace and da silva!

You cannot judge a team after 2 games especially when from the sounds we have played well but have not been able capatlise on that. Going out of the league cup is not the end of the world, our home gorm last season was good so lets see how we go saturday!

I'll reserve judgement until I've seen us play

a few times at least. But I do agree that the squad strengthening that we had all summer to do, and talked a good game about, has been mostly disappointing. Hume and Moore are decent signings, but after having our fingers burnt last summer with Mostto, what the f.ck was Colace all about? Key central midfield role, crucial to the dynamics of the team, and we gamble again. Bonkers. And from what I've heard, we might be sending him back before he's played a single game. On top of which, we're still short of a natural left back. Which we've known about for over a season. Not even been linked with anyone, so sounds like not even on the agenda. Crazy if you ask me.

I sincerely hope Davey can pull in some favours from Premiership managers and get those two positions filled via the loan market before this month ends, cos Championship managers are lucky to survive 10 games if the season starts badly, and Im starting to think the writing is already on the wall.

It will be interesting to see Colace evan though you are putting everyones expectation down on him, I think we may put too
much pressure on him before he's kicked a ball like usual!

Only one person is to blame for that. Simon Davey

He is the one who has loaded so much pressure onto Colace by making it clear that he is the only defensive midfielder at the club that he is willing to even try in a competitive match so he just HAS to work out.
The pressure has been created by the manager.

He'll need to be better than Togwell

because that'll be the first comparison, and if he doesnt come straight into the side if/when his work permit comes through, then that will imply Davey doesnt think he's any better than Hassell. Lets see what happens after the Friday deadline.
