I think the Barnsley board thought it was a formality that Flitcroft would sign as Manager. Looks as though David has other ideas. He is interested and wants to sign, but he like Robins want to know if the Board are interested in going forward with the club. So mr Cryne, mr Taylor, mr Rowing, are you interested in going forward. It is no good trying to sell the club as it is, it will not happen. So it needs some interest in it to be shown. It needs new blood injecting into it because we are haemoraging. So all the fans will be waiting with interest as to what you do. If you take the same path as you have always done and hide behind fair play measures and the rest, you will lose our Manager and our top players. Most of all you will lose your fans support. The ball is in your court, play it wisely. David has done his job, now the board needs to do the same
agreed. I have had a go at the "Board" this year for being out of touch. If ever there was a time for them to come across as dynamic / strong / forward thinking ...... then the time is now. Everybody seems to have the feeling we are onto something - that finally we may be able to at least challenge. Let's hope the "board" realise that too.
Remember when we thought we had secured Oliver Norwood. Barnsleys ambition was to survive in the championship, Huddersfields ambition was to try and secure promotion to the premiership. Which attitude attracts the ambitious players?...... Not hard is it.
Nowt to do wi money then! Bad example choosing Mr Norwood to get your point across and I'm glad we didn't get him.
According to press reports from Oakwell the contract is agreed and in the hands of lawyers,I thought that's how clubs worked.I think people are seeing a problem that's not there.
People are just anxious. Thats all. Well, I am anyway. This is our biggest shot at success, since 96.
We get a new manager one day and hes paraded around as signed the same day or day after. So why does tbis take 2 weeks? Summats not quite right is it!?
Its called negotiation. If Flitcroft just rolled over & slavered like a dog offered a bone I'd be worried about him in the transfer market. Be patient & take a chill pill.

not saying we don't need some new investors & vision in the marketing department they need to be given credit for keeping us in the championship though
John, they did not keep us in Championship, Flitcroft and his players did. I think a little more support from them earlier on in season would have helped but they did not get who Hill wanted.
Rowing says it's in the hands of the lawyers, yet he as general manager says the club hasn't decided if it's a fixed or rolling contract... the usual tripe that comes out of the 'club'. I'm not saying it won't get sorted, but the noises seem coming out of the club seem very vague and 'waffly', which I find hard to understand when he's been manager since January... it's not as though the club hasn't had chance to plan for chance we might actually stay up. What an odd bunch we have running the club these days.
sorry, but I thought they appointed Flitcroft & his predecessor, who signed the players? (excepting COG & Scotland, who without we wouldn't have stayed up - but I assume without money from stones we may have struggled to pay the wages of) i think they need some credit - just we need new investment & a proper marketing man
