Like everyone else I’m trying to keep a lid on my excitement at the prospect of making the playoffs. We’ve had posts on ‘this year’s Hull City’ and buying £10 million players. There is something that ‘dogs’ me. If we get promoted, will our style of play be sufficiently effective to keep us up. It’s been a compliment to us that teams have changed their own style of play because they find it difficult to cope with our pressing game. Brentford played their natural game and lost. Blackburn and Stoke changed their style to counter our pressing game and still lost. But and it’s a big but, in the ‘Prem’ teams like Man City have players with the quality to pass around the press and teams like Leicester have players like Vardy to run into the space behind our high line. Having said that VI is not daft and I’m sure he’s astute enough to be considering what he’ll be doing in the event that our aspirations materialise.
Big Val will be planning and considering one game at a time. If If If and it's a big If, we make it, then VI will plan for that at the time
