...because we are clearly a team in transition. But I hope Bailey and Berry can be taught to pass to a teammate. I thought all the youngsters did well though. Excellent full-back pairing and Oates and Williams showed good signs. Preston were actually worse than us second half.

Have seen many games where Berry has hardly missed a pass to teammates.

He gives the ball away far too often for my liking. But it's only my opinion. Happy that other people seem to rate him. In my view he looks what he is - a young guy who is making a big step-up in class and struggling a bit. Time will tell.

For me, we need a agressive ball-winning experienced midfielder (as much as I hate him, a Michael Brown type) plus another winger who can and will work back defensively (a Martin Devaney type).

Then we would play a 4-4-2 with midfield being:-

Jennings - Hourihane - "Michael Brown type" - Hourihane - "Martin Devaney type"

I honestly thought Digby would have excelled this season in that central midfield role and am struggling to understand why he can do it at youth international level, yet struggles with BFC.

Again, you are entitled to your opinion. I thought he gave the ball away cheaply in that game too. As I said, time will tell, but if we are to win consistently we need to be much better when in possession. Particularly in midfield.

Said the same about Digby at the game. Very sad that he is judged not good enough to get into our current midfield. But then I'm the sort of person that still thinks RNL will come good!
