there's an advert on t.v. -- something to do with foreign holidays or Hotel Travago.

In this advert and air stewardess is seen on a plane and she's handed a small paper bag by one of the passengers as she walks past him. She grimaces and walks off with the bag.

    What is in the bag?

There's an advert for the Halifax whereby a member of the cabin crew removes an obviously full vomit bag from an ill passenger. Is that the one you mean?

tbh can't remember what the ad is for - may well be the Halifax - not sure why a stewardess carrying a bag of sick will boost sales.

The concept of the series of advert's message is simple. The Halifax is claiming it looks after the interests of customers who go out of their way to help others. Whether the message is believable is up to the viewer.
