Hmmm I didn't think posting links would be anything illegal? Afterall, they're just links. How do you think sites with all the film links on them survive?
It's a bit of a minefield Deep linking and linking to illegal content being particularly contentious. Best to steer clear.
Last season we got a solicitors letter From the League threatening court action if we allowed the posting of links to highlights etc. They also asked our ISP to shut us down. Whilst none of us really believe that it is an offence to post a url none of us really want to go to court to prove it. We are confident that links to virgin media are OK though as they hold rights to show the highlights.
RE: Even then deep linking may be illegal nt You would think that certain sites would be glad of links on other sites. It directs people to their site after all, so more chance of people hitting them.
But not if it bypasses the advertising content that funds the site That's the argument, anyway. Dunno where it stands in the courts now. There have been some out of court settlements in the US I think.
