Let's draw up a short list of candidates and have poll. Let the BBS speak.

How about Alnwick before he's even played.. He seems to be getting stick already... Let's see if we can drain his confidence pre-season!!!

Well if reading comments on here drains his confidence then he really does want shipping out straight away. There's a world of difference between getting stick on here and during the game (deservedly or not) Any player allowing comments/criticisms from this board or any other affect their form shouldn't be a pro footballer. I'm not talking about personal attacks on themselves or their families, deplorable as they are, they shouldn't affect their play.

It will happen at some point... there will be a blip in form/results/team selection/injuries etc and people will over-react and will look for others to blame. In that respect its not a stupid post, it's a comment about peoples' mentalities and their impatience when things dont quite work out.

By saying things aren't going to be perfect you are already slagging the new regime off. I have higher hopes of the standards the new regime will adhere to

Dont worry, scapegoats are always easy to come by, just look at the playing staff! People think footballers are machines and its black or white that they are a good or bad player, you'd think after numerous players starting off **** and coming good that peolle would learn. A few examples in recent years; JOB; crap in his first season. Etubu; righten off. Dagnall; could hit a barn door for a while. Wiseman; started to pull it round. (Although ive seen wiseman make errors thst ive seen no ogher pros make, which will alsways slightly worry me!)

I think you've answered your own question.

Now that Watkins and Mansford have taken over the commercial activity I would hazard a guess that far fewer things will go wrong in order to warrant the existence of a scapegoat off the field.

And anyway, what an odd, out of the blue post.

Isn't it natural that two of our worst performers will, by the law of averages, come in for the most criticism over the course of a season. It's the same in any walk of life. Criticism is part of being a footballer. It's not a hard life and it's well paid by normal standards, so why all the pity and concern? Only when it becomes personal or vitriolic is criticism unacceptable.

When it effects their performance it becomes a concern. It doesn't need to be personal or vitriolic to do that.

If they are being criticsed it's because of poor performances. When their poor performances affect the best interests of the team then of course fans are going to criticise them. They get paid very well to do a job. If they fail to meet the standard required then they'll be rightly criticised, then coached and managed to improve. If they fail to improve then they'll be held accountable.

I'll volunteer. People can blame me. Unlike the Don I'll tell them to f**k off though.
